Awareness and Prevention in Action

I was pleased to contribute to the initiatives of the Community Centre and Mobile Unit of the Municipality of Livadia, supporting efforts aimed at prevention and the promotion of awareness within the local community.

As part of interventions carried out in primary schools within the Municipality of Livadia, talks were delivered on the mindful use of social media and the inclusion of diversity. Through open dialogue and experiential examples, children were encouraged to develop critical thinking, empathy, and respect for themselves and others. Their response was both meaningful and deeply moving, highlighting that prevention begins through early awareness and the cultivation of safe spaces for expression.

Alongside this, a one-day event was organised focusing on raising awareness around later life and the social and psychological processes that accompany it. The strong engagement of community members highlighted the city’s genuine commitment to its people.

In collaboration with other professionals – a lefal expert, a nutritionist, and a representation of the police- we approached the need and challenges of the vital life stage from a holistic perspective.

The active engagement of the community affirms that when knowledge is combined with collaboration, the foundations are laid for a city characterised by greater understanding, cohesion and care.
